CORBA, the Common Object Request
Broker Architecture, is OMG’s open, vendor-neutral
architecture and infrastructure that computer
applications use to work together over networks. Using
the standard protocol IIOP®, a CORBA-based program from
any vendor, on almost any computer, operating system,
programming language, and network, can interoperate with
a CORBA-based program from the same or another vendor,
on almost any other computer, operating system,
programming language, and network. CORBA has continued
to evolve over the years to meet changing industry needs
and, most recently, OMG announced the adoption of CORBA/e™
(CORBA for embedded) as a standard–including the first
two CORBA/e profiles, CORBA/e Compact and
CORBA/e Micro Profile. This directory of vendors
of CORBA-compliant products is free both to list and to
search.
